Clay pots are popular in India since ancient times and Kumbhar (potter)community have been actively contributing to the society by making a wide varietyof clays having different shapes, styles and specific  pattern based on theirusage.Indian clay pots are earthenware pots that have been used for centuries for Indian cooking.In earlier times, the ware, including clay lamps and cooking utensils, was popular with people and used in homes and temples.

Modern-day items made by them include functional and decorative ware, like planters, sculptures, vases, ornaments and clay idols of gods and goddesses.

The Madaki gallery at the Aamchem Diaaz Museum provides a glimpse of the wide variety of items made by Kumbhar community. The exclusive collection includes 60-70 year old numerous household items which were being used by the people for accomplishing their daily needs.
